Description

This exquisite solid silver purse was made in Birmingham 1910 by Sampson Marks & Co. Of conventional form, both sides embossed with a rather striking sunburst design surrounding a vacant reserve. The clasp opens to reveal a beautiful green moire silk interior. The original interior divided in four compartments. The sides fitted with a chain and suspension ring to allow a lady to hold her purse while holding her cocktail glass.

SM&Co in a lozenge for Sampson Marks & Co.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Date letter 'l' for 1911.

Lion Passant.
