Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Ensi is a specific type of rug traditionally woven by nomadic Turkmen tribes, such as the Tekke, to serve as a door curtain for a yurt. They typically feature a central field divided into four quarters by a cross-like design known as a hatchli, alongside stylized geometric motifs.

These rugs were hand-knotted using hand-spun wool for both the pile and the foundation. Dyes were derived from natural sources, such as madder root for terracotta and crimson tones, indigo for navy accents, and un-dyed wool for ivory details.

Authentic pieces exhibit dense knotting with a velvety handle and a distinct four-panel cruciform layout. Characteristic elements include subtle colour variations known as abrash, hand-bound selvedges, and micro-geometric motifs framed by decorative borders.

A tribal carpet with rich terracotta and red tones grounds a neutral, contemporary, or modern rustic space. Placing it alongside natural timber furniture, leather seating, and brass accents highlights its geometric structure and colour depth.

Vacuum regularly using a suction-only nozzle to protect the hand-knotted pile. Use a dense rug pad underneath to mitigate wear, rotate the textile periodically to balance foot traffic, and employ professional specialist restorers for periodic cleaning.
