Description

Visually arresting 'Serapi' carpet from there Heriz district of North West Persia. From the pictures you might assume this is a much bigger carpet but it is actually charmingly small. Woven extremely finely and with the same attention to detail as a larger piece, the bold, tomato red field sets off the small navy medallion and green pendant anchors, and green corners. Also note the continuous serpent border with the snake or dragon gripping the tail of the next beast in its mouth, round and round they go. A very handsome and charismatic rug in perfect, original condition. Showing very light wear but essentially in full pile.
