Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating from the Punjab region of India during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Hoshiarpur furniture features intricate inlay work using bone, ivory, brass, or mother-of-pearl set into native dark hardwoods such as teak or rosewood.

These tables typically consist of a removable circular or octagonal top resting on a collapsible octagonal base with pierced arches. Construction relies on mortise and tenon joinery with hand-carved floral, geometric, or animal motifs embedded directly into the wood.

Authentic pieces demonstrate natural variations in hand-cut inlay materials, subtle irregularities in hand-carved joinery, and patinated timber. The folding base mechanisms typically use simple pin hinges and exhibit hand-sawn markings on unexposed surfaces.

Position the table alongside neutral-toned contemporary upholstery to highlight its detailed geometric patterns, or place it in an eclectic reading space as an accent surface for books and lighting.

Clean the surface regularly using a soft, dry cotton cloth, avoiding water and harsh detergents that can loosen the adhesive holding the inlay. Apply a paste wax sparingly to the timber while avoiding build-up around the intricate inlaid edges.
