Description

An exquisite example of a postage stamp box made from the most expensive timber in the world, exotic Amboyna, with it's luxurious burl and rich cognac colour.

The lid is beautifully inlaid with a foliate and bird design.

The interior is fitted with with four compartments which slope to make it easier when retrieving a stamp. Dating to around 1900, it remains in excellent condition measuring 4 1/2" x 1 7/8" x 1 3/8" tall.
