Antique 19th Century French Palais Royal Mahogany Sewing Box.

A superb and complete mid 19th century French Palais Royal figured mahogany sewing box in the form of a miniature grand piano. The faux piano keys are inlaid with boxwood and ebony with further ebony stringing, the case having three decorative brass mounts to the front and raised on four turned legs. The lid lifts to reveal the original sewing tray complete with all the original sewing aids which are all in excellent condition with the exception of one mother of pearl silk holders (see photo).
