Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Originally part of a bedstead (the footboard) now makes a wonderful feature headboard. Because it was originally a footboard it may need raising up slightly to be a suitable height to use as a headboard depending on your requirements. It is of generous proportions at 173cm wide, so would work well with a king-size divan, or could even work for 2 singles pushed together.

Good condition. Beautiful patina and good colour. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Holes to bottom of legs where original side rails would have fitted.
