Large Victorian English Sterling Silver Heart Trinket Box - 1897

Description

A really stunning antique sterling silver trinket or table box, a larger size than the norm, measuring 3" x 2 3/4" x 1 5/8" tall.

The box is covered in an all-over repousse decoration with an attractive vacant cartouche to the centre of the domed lid. Once the hinged lid is opened a very opulent gilded interior is revealed.

The box has a good clear hallmark for Birmingham 1897 together with the makers initials D & F for the renowned silversmith, Deakin & Francis. Superb condition. 57.2 Grams / 1.84 Troy Ounces.
