A stunning George II Scottish silver hash spoon. Made in Edinburgh in 1729 by a scarcely seen maker David Mitchell. The spoon is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs only slight wear to the bowl. This hanoverian style spoon has great hallmarks as well as engraved initials "MM". A very rare and collectable piece of Scottish silver. It also has the mark of the assay master Edward Penman, a system unique in 18th century Scotland where the appointed assay master would check the silversmiths work and add his mark to the hallmarks.
