The chair has turned and fluted side back rails to a lower stretcher with a turned gallery. The chair incorporates low sweeping arms culminating in burl walnut boxwood inlaid front faces. The sprung seat features a serpentine frontage finishing to turned, fluted and gilded front legs. The chair stands on its original 4 solid brass castors with white porcelain wheels.
This chair has been recently re-upholstered (approximately 5 years ago) to a high standard in a floral gold chenille material which is in a fantastic clean condition with virtually no wear (from a smoke and pet free home), ideal for any period property. The material could be left as it because of its fantastic used condition or it could be fully upholstered to your taste. We would be able to quote for re-upholstering this chair for you if you enquire.
This item is structurally solid, in good order with no loose joints. The material and sprung seated inner padding seems to be in very good condition with no clunking. The chair is very comfortable to sit in.
Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but does have some signs of wear and tear, however, we feel that these points are which adds to part of its charm and character with it being antique.
