Description

I love blue, and here, in this Afshar tribal rug from circa 1900, the deep indigo-blue ground is just stunning, and particularly being framed by the beautiful sky-blue borders. The field contains the 'dragon & phoenix' symbol - the fight between good and evil - something we see in the world today, so let us hope 'good' prevails!

This beautiful rug, recently found in Iran, was made in the environs of Neiriz in Kerman province, southern Persia and is in excellent condition with lustrous, glossy wool.

Size: 1.80m x 1.45m (6' 0" x 4' 9").
