Antique French Louis Xv Style Kingwood Bombe Commode Chest with Marble Top

An attractive and impressive early 20th century antique French Louis XV style kingwood veneer and marquetry inlaid bombe commode chest with marble top. The antique bombe commode chest has a grey toned marble top that sits upon a bow front chest of two drawers, each with gilded decorative handles. The antique bombe commode chest is raised on four out swept legs, with decorative ormolu mounts to the top and feet. A particularly pleasing chest, with beautiful inlay and marquetry details throughout. The marble top can be removed for ease of transport.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related scratches, marks and splits to the veneer on the sides (pictured), also minor scratches to the marble top (pictured). There are minor losses and a patch repair to the veneer on the front right leg (pictured), however this doesn’t affect the overall integrity of the product. The antique bombe commode chest remains structurally solid and sound, with the drawers running well. The marble top can be removed for ease of transport. Overall, a good example of its kind.
