Description

A Striking Pair of C19th French Gilt Bronze Candelabra In Egyptian Revival Taste. Sympathetically cleaned and rewired these gorgeous lamps have four light sconces topped with attractive dark green shades. Supported by a tapered green marble column terminating with a seated Sphinx. The marble base decorated to the corners with stylised lions paw feet and a central laurel wreath. Rewired and PAT tested.

Provenance Airlie Gardens, Holland Park. The home of Herbert Olivier (1861-1952), Edwardian artist and traveller, uncle to actor Sir Lawrence Olivier
