Here are a near pair of Carlton Ware Baluster vases from their Best Ware range, decorated in a stunning orange lustre in their ''Parrots'' Design. Dating to 1925 (back stamp dating reference number 0/7119 ), these vases would have been considered at the time to be such a striking colour - just as they are to this day! Rimmed in gold, their interiors have a pearlescent lustre.Both vases are in excellent condition, bright and shiny with no crack or chips, and just the gentle surface wear commensurate with their age, the gilding stronger on one than the other. (the white highlights in the photographs are the shine on the surface, and not losses!).One vase stands a fraction taller than the other (5mm), but this is barely visible - in fact it was only when I came to photograph them side by side that I even noticed!Both are 10.5cmcm at their widest point, the tallest standing 22cm, the smaller of the two 21.5cm.I have a charger plate and a footed bowl in the same pattern,...
