John Beazor Antiques is a family firm, established in 1875 and based in Cambridge since 1940. We are a traditional antiques shop, but very much in the 21st century. We deal in 18th and early 19th century furniture, barometers and clocks. We choose our stock for its originality and for the quality of its colour, patination and design.

We are members of the BADA. We do not exhibit at fairs preferring to deal from our Cambridge shop where we hold Open Weekends from time to time.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian silver easel mirrors feature sterling silver frames mounted on a wooden or fabric-backed frame with a hinged rear easel leg, produced primarily during the late 19th century for dressing tables and vanity suites.

These mirrors typically feature thin die-stamped, pierced, or repousse sterling silver sheets fitted over a solid timber or velvet-covered structure, securing a bevelled or flat glass mirror plate.

Authentic items feature official British hallmark stamps including the lion passant denoting sterling purity, an assay office symbol, a date letter, and a registered silversmith makers mark.

A silver easel mirror can be placed on a bedroom chest of drawers, a dressing table, or a hallway sideboard to reflect ambient light and introduce historic metalwork textures.

Dust the metalwork gently with a soft dry cloth and polish using a silver polishing cloth to remove tarnish, avoiding liquid cleansers that may seep behind the mount and damage the fabric backing or mirror backing.
