An antique Victorian Scottish silver mounted bird of prey claw brooch c1880. Typically for the delicate amount of silver used on this type of item, the silver is not hallmarked but is silver. The claw is mounted with a silver base, to which the pin (copper) is attached, and silver claws at each claw tip with a silver ring and catch around the longest claw. In excellent condition. The claw likely belongs to one of the smaller birds of prey, such as a kite, or a pheasant.
