A rare Coalport Porcelain dessert tureen, decorated in the Studio of Thomas Baxter c.1800-1810. Of hybrid hard-paste porcelain, the oval shape tureen, decorated with pale yellow ground colour, painting in blue, green, yellow, puce, and black enamels and gilding, with a broad band of anthemion ribbon feather, rose and leaf motifs, in a palette of iron red, orange, puce, green, lilac and gilding; the borders with a geometric and leaf design in gilding within borders of Angels with trumpets and a circular laurel wreath enclosing the coat-of-arms of Bruce impaling Spicer. The lid decorated with the same pattern and with typical Coalport ''pistol'' grip handle.
