Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Tabriz rugs originate from the city of Tabriz in northwestern Iran, one of the oldest rug-weaving centres in Persia. They are recognized for their diverse, intricate patterns ranging from central medallions and teardrop motifs to complex floral arabesques and pictorial scenes.

These carpets are hand-knotted using high-grade wool or silk pile woven onto a strong cotton or silk warp and weft foundation. They employ either symmetric or asymmetric knots, resulting in a firm weave with precise design detail.

Authentic period Tabriz pieces exhibit a fine, consistent knot density, soft hand-spun wool, and subtle abrash or natural dye variations. The reverse side reveals a distinct, tightly packed knot pattern and pliable cotton foundation characteristic of the era.

A classic floral Persian carpet can be used to ground minimalist or modern furniture by introducing rich colour and complex texture. Layering it over neutral flooring creates an inviting focal point in dining rooms, living spaces, or study areas.

Vacuum regularly using suction only without a rotating brush bar to protect the pile. Rotate the rug annually to balance sun exposure and foot traffic wear, and rely on professional hand-cleaning specialists for spot removal.
