The rails with hand carved gadrooning and the seat pad upholstered in a good quality antique gold coloured fabric with foliate reserves centred with embroidered pale green fleur-de-lis. Comfortable and well padded, very solid, no weak joints.
All four rails visible and original.
A very useable and sturdy small stool of attractive proportion and design which would work very well with a period dressing table. From a longstanding private collection.
