Gents silver Tavannes wrist watch, 1914.

The watch has a Swiss Tavannes hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement carries a patent date of 24th of May 1904, the applicant was Henri Frédéric Sandoz, the founder of Tavannes, and the patent relates to the keyless workings.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1914 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, a Birmingham based case maker and supplier to various watch makers.

The case is in good condition for such an early piece, just a little unevenness to the hinged case back but nothing too serious.

The watch glass has light marking but again, very acceptable.

The dial is in lovely condition.

When winding the movement, the crown needs to be pushed in very slightly.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
