A Lovely Early Fireplace Guard.
We bring to you this very rare excellent condition late Georgian to early Victorian fine quality elegant fire place fender made from Brass and Iron in around C1830. This ornate guard features a curved front, rounded and moulded top edge complete with hand woven Iron mesh, finishing to a tall brass plinth which stands on 2 brass shell feet. This fender features an iron base internally to catch ash, embers and falls back to the fire, protecting flooring.
This lovely original fire fender is ideal for any period property with an open fireplace or for purely display or decoration. We have sympathetically restored this item by carefully cleaning and polishing it to bring out the natural brass shine, the mesh and ironwork has been re black leaded.
Please note; This item is in very good condition for its age but will obviously have dents and imperfections here and there due to the age of the item. However, we feel that this adds to the charm and authenticity of the item with it being antique.
Please also note; listing is for the fireplace fender only, other items are not included but may be available separately.
