Neopolitan Oil on Canvas Depicting the Bay of Naples C1800-1850

Description

A neo-classical landscape painting of the "Bay of Naples"depicting a sweeping view down a valley towards the ocean,with mountains visable in the background.

There are two neo-classical style figures interacting in the foreground,with a pair of tall trees painted to the right hand side.

Spot the tiny rabbit at the foot of the trees.

There is a long title written in capitals on the left lower side wall ,which is difficult to make out clearly,but seems to read ,"Liquida Lacusre Baiec".

The plaster gilt frame is original and the canvas has had a tiny patch applied to the back ,some years ago.

Measurements are overall 35 Inches x 26 Inches.
