Marlborough Antiques & Interiors has dated this piece to the 1930s.
Twelve buttons adorn the seat to give a nice plump feel.

The distinct bentwood arms and rocker have been waxed to enhance their original patina and the original brake is in working order, however due to wear over the years the brake will not hold if forced.

Inside the original spring and frame work exists, and although it cannot be seen, it bears the name of Elson & Robbins Ltd, Long Eaton a well know manufacturer of upholstery supplies in Derbyshire, and the patent numbers 471601 & 434865 which both date form the 1930’s.
