Description

1940s Vertex pocket watch for British Rail.

The watch has a good clean 15-jewel Swiss stem-winding movement, signed Vertex Revue, which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the logo of G Thommen, owner of the brand name Vertex Revue. The movement is protected by an inner cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated Star model from the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer of watch cases and supplier to various watch makers. The case is in lovely condition, just light marking, nothing serious at all. The back of the watch has a long service inscription from British Rail

The glass lens is in good condition as is the signed dial with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute track.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
