Description

An early 18th century antique carved oak coffer. The antique oak coffer has a four sunken panel lid that opens to reveal a spacious interior. The antique oak coffer has a four panel front, with decorative carved detailing throughout. Raised on stile feet. A rather pleasing example, full of authentic charm.

CONDITION REPORT:

In rustic antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and shrinkage to the top, sides and front (pictured). There is abundant evidence of historic woodworm, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Due to the historic woodworm, there is decay throughout the coffer (pictured), however the antique oak coffer remains structurally solid and functional. Overall, an authentic example.
