Description

Antique silver Waltham Hillside pocket watch.

The watch has a 13-jewel stem-winding movement, Hillside grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 2,987,301 which dates it back to around 1886. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1886 together with the mark for Alfred Bedford, manager of Waltham UK.

The case has a small “ding” to the bezel, and some slight unevenness and light marking to the back of the watch but nothing too serious at all.

The glass lens is in good condition.

The dial has a couple of faint hairlines at the top, and two faint short hairlines underneath the sub seconds dial, but they are difficult to see with the naked eye. Lever set hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
