This impressive Flemish well carved throne chair was made in the 19th century.
It has an important cresting above the back panel with a carved heraldic crest.
In the back is a deep carved panel depicting a scene of men of horseback and others on foot.

The leather padded armrests with the handgrips of stylised lion heads.

In the 19thc it was common for makers to carve a date that was a lot earlier than the item.
