Rare Scottish Provincial Silver Ladle, Greenock 1800 - 1836

A very rare Scottish provincial silver ladle. This ladle bears the hallmarks for Greenock including urn, sailing ship and thistle and letter ''G'' , along with the maker''s mark: NN. (The Greenock Assay Office was hallmarking until 1836 when it was then moved to Edinburgh or Glasgow for hallmarking). This dates the ladle 1800 -1836.
 
 
 
The ladle is a plain polished silver the only engraving being initials to the top of the ladle terminal ''WM''.
 
 
 
A lovely interesting item, great for a collector of Scottish Greenock silver!
 
 
 
Condition: In great antique condition, no marks on the silver or denting (see images).
 
 
 
Hallmarks: Greenock Assay Office circa 1800 - 1836 by NN.
 
 
 
Measurements: Length: 15 cm Width of bowl: 4.5 cm Depth 4.3 cm
 
 
 
Weight: 27 grams
