A magnificent and original Art Deco mantle clock for your consideration, Circa 1930. Stunning profile, having a high squared centre and slender, tapered wings. Reminiscent of the golden age of flight. Attractive inlay, using ebony, fruitwoods and walnut. Within, a splendid Westminster movement by Haller, striking pitch perfectly on gong rods. A mellow and tuneful sound. Some Westminster chimes can be shrill and bombastic. This example is modest, precise and pleasing. Chimes incrementally on the quarters and strikes a pleasing chord on the hours.
