A serene Japanese Meiji period bronze okimono of the great buddha of Kamakura, sat in meditation wearing a simple robe, finely rendered and signed by the artist ‘Hoju’ on the underside with a lovely patina. This splendid bronze okimono is based on the 13th century Great bronze buddha of Kamakura, which is the second largest bronze buddha in Japan standing 11.3 meters tall. This bronze okimono stands 7 inches tall and is in excellent condition.
