Edwardian 3.52 Carat Ceylon Sapphire Ring, Dated 1912

1900 - 1920
Description

An amazing antique sapphire ring. The cushion shaped sapphire in the centre – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – displays a rich, demin blue. The stone is secured in an unfussy eight-claw coronet collet which is flanked on either side by small, rubover set cabochon sapphire which lead to a slim and tapering 18k yellow gold shank.

Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.

With clear hallmarked from the Chester assay office, date-marked 1912.

Cut – Cushion cut with round cabochons either side.

Clarity – The centre is loupe clean.

Carat – The centre is 3.52 carat. The smaller cabochon sapphires are approximately 0.10 carat.

Dated – 1912.

Size – R (UK) or 8 5/8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements – The sapphire is 9.2 x 8.3mm and sits 5.4mm from the finger.

Metal – 18k yellow gold. Fully hallmarked from the Chester assay office.
