Set of 6 Antique Charles II Jacobean C1920's Oak Heavily Carved Tall Back Dining Chairs

A rare set of 6 heavily carved Jacobean chairs.

We bring to you this set of antique Charles II inspired Jacobean carved oak dining chairs in a beautiful original condition made around the 1920's. Inspired with chairs from the 1600's these chairs are fantastically made featuring spectacular fretwork and deep carvings which depict angels and foliage throughout.

The chairs feature turned and carved back up-stands either side which frames the ornate back with its oval split cane centre. The chair stands on a turned base with turned stretchers incorporating a highly carved front rail between the turned and carved forelegs.

The chairs are complete with drop in seat-pads which are covered in a new chenille material.

Underneath the seat-pads the chairs are originally split cane, however, 3 of which would need the cane-work replacing if the chairs are to be used without the seat-pads. We have made the 6 drop in seat-pads because the chairs would need re caning to use otherwise. The chairs are perfectly usable long term and comfortable with the seat-pads. They are easily removable and preserve the chairs cane incase the next owner decides to have the split cane replaced.

Also bare in mind the one chairs back split cane does have some slight damage as shown in the pictures but is still very usable.

These chairs feature lovely original polish with a lightly faded colour and lots of patina which have been sympathetically restored and carefully waxed in our workshop. These chairs have obviously been looked after and cared for as it is very rare to find a set of antique chairs in such good condition, the majority of sets get broken up or chairs lost or broken. These chairs are of a very high quality, are made from all solid Oak with no loose joints or breaks and are free from woodworm.

Please note: We can reupholster the seat-pads on these chairs in a material of your choice if this material is not to your taste (for obvious added costs) if you enquire.
