A French solid silver tastevin or wine taster from the 18th century with a dedicatory inscription around the rim A.DESROSIERS.1772
This exquisite piece measures 14.5 cm including the handle in diameter, and 4 cm in height and bears hallmarks as shown hallmarks as shown in the photos.
The Hallmarks are for Paris 1764 by the Maison Commune.
This taste du Vin dates from the period of King Louis XV of France, is a very good period example in very good condition, and is unusually heavy.
There is a silver coin to the bottom of the bowl with the face of King Louis XV
