Description

This antique wooden bird which dates from the beginning of the 20th century is a unique piece that comes from France and was most probably a hanging tradesman sign for a blacksmith or hardware shop.

This highly unusual piece, which is in the form of a pigeon / dove, is wonderfully hand carved in wood, has metal fixings and a sprung metal tool is incorporated in it's design.

Date: Beginning of the 20th century.

Size: Length: 46 cm (18"). Width 21 cm (8 1/4"). Height: 17 cm (6 3/4").

Weight: 3.3 Kg.

Condition: Well used antique condition with wear, marks, corrosion, chips and light dents. Has a wonderful patina.
