Large Regency Giltwood Convex Mirror

19th century
Description

A Large Regency Giltwood Mirror.

The mirror topped by an eagle, rising off a concave pediment. The circular frame, of rounded profile, with concave fluting, gathered to each quarter by classical spreading leaves against a scrolled ground. The outer flanks of the mirror with scrolling and rising leaves, the theme repeated to the lower edge with leaves spreading from a lattice. The reeded slips holding the original convex plate. Complete with original wood back boards.

Date circa 1830.
