"Next Door to Mr White, Draper" High Street Stamford (Lincolnshire)

From Humble Beginnings Like This Clock - Joseph Hinds' Two Sons (George Henry and John Richard) succeeded him and went into Business Together. That Firm (Now the 7th Generation of Decendents) Still Trades as the Well Known F. Hinds Jewellers - Family Business of the year 2014.

Born Circa 1806, Working From 1825, Married 1827, Free 1833-35, Then to Colchester Circa 1835 till Died 1847.

Nephew of William Hickman of Stamford

Joseph also Maintained Stamford's Famous Church Clock.

Having Been Checked, Serviced and Tested This clock Charming Late Georgian Oak and Mahogany 8 Day Clock is offered in Good Working Order.

Attractive Enamel Painted Dial with Seconds Dial, Date Window and Charming Floral Decoration to the 4 Corners Below A Lady Sitting Outside with Bunches of Fruit that, at the time, would have only just been Introduced to the Country. The False Plate Stamped "Russell & Bell Birmingham" - part of Russell & Bell Edinburgh who became Russell & Anderson, then Russell & Clark and finally Thomas Russell. A total Trading Time From 1824-1855

The Hood with Reeded Columns and String Inlay Decoration, Surmounted by 3 Wooded Gilt Finials. Please note that the height given (204.5cm or 80.5in Approx) is without the finial.
