Description

These are a wonderful pair of door plates dating from the last half of the 19th century, I believe they are electrotypes.

Such a beautiful and charming subject matter. One plate represents day and one night.

I understand that the original design was by Edward William Wyon.

Each plate carries a design lozenge, which is difficult to read, my best endeavours have come up with February 3rd 1863?

They are both in excellent condition. Details include bat, owl, roses, they really are fantastic.
