Antique English Silver Plated Bachelor Tea Set C.1900

Description

Always a popular one with the designers and decorators, these small bachelor tea services add a wonderful finishing touch to almost any room.

This one is particularly decorative, with it's repousse decoration surrounding large cartouches which of course could be engraved by your silversmith with initials or a family crest.

The sugar and milk jug retain a gilded interior. The underside of the teapot is marked EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver. Dating to the late Victorian or early Edwardian period, 1890/1910, it remains in excellent condition. The teapot measures 9" handle to spout x 5 1/2" tall to top of Ebony finial; the sugar measuring 6 1/2" handle to handle x 3 3/4" tall to top of handle; the milk jug or creamer measures 4" spout to handle x 3 1/4" tall to top of handle.
