Antique Oriental Brass Bound Camphor Blanket Box

Description

Offered for sale is this antique brass bound carved camphor trunk. Ideal as a coffee table or storage box.

Dating from 1860. Oriental made for the export market. Solid camphor with brass bound mounts to the corners & sides. Nicely quality carved scenes to the top, front sides. Brass locks to the front with brass flat flush fitting handle. Side carrying handles. It has a lidded candle box inside. Standing on its original raised block feet.

Lovely colour and patina. No woodworm. No splits. Lovely sweet smell of camphor when you open the lid.

Measures 37.5" wide, 18" deep & 17" high.
