Antique English Sterling Silver Trinket Box - Victorian - 1899

Description

A charming small trinket, ring or pill box in an oval shape with tall domed lid with a vacant cartouche to the very top which could be engraved with initials by your silversmith if desired.

The box has an all-over embossed or repousse decoration, highly decorative and always highly sought-after. The lid is hinged, fits well and the hinge in excellent working condition.

The interior reveals a beautifully gilded finish, completing this charming Victorian gem. The silver is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1899, making this a true Victorian example. Measures 2 3/8" x 1 7/8" x 1 1/4" tall.
