Fabulous Cased Victorian Silver Sampson Mordan Scent Bottle , London 1881

Description

This beautiful Victorian solid silver scent bottle was made by the highly collectable Sampson Mordan and is dated London 1881 . Of cylindrical form, it is finely engraved with foliate decorations. The hinged lid opens to reveal a rich gilt interior. The glass inner body fitted with the original glass stopper.

Fitted in the original plush leather, satin and velvet presentation case.

Hallmarks:

SM&Co for Sampson Mordan & Co.

London Assay mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "F" for 1881.

Dimensions:

Height: 5.5 cm / 2.2 inches.

Diameter of base: 2.3cm / 0.6 inches.

Condition:

Excellent.

No dings or dents.

Strong hinge

Good lid fit. Snaps shut.

Inner glass in perfect condition.

Glass stopper in perfect condition.
