A most wonderful rarity in this delightful silver and enamel vesta case owned by ''Captain H.S.King'' of the Royal Engineers and made by the highly regarded firm of Sampson Mordan & Co.
This fine Enamel & Silver Royal Engineers Match Striker hallmarked for c1892 is rare and certainly a complete one off as it has the Cpatains name to the front in black enamel on a white enamel background, two areas of lifted enamel (worthy of repair), but in the main this fine example will no doubt have travelled extensively with the Captain across the continents.
