Large Ming Dynasty Cizhou Wear Ovoid Ceramic Planter - Vessel

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Pappilon

An oversized ovoid cizhou wear jar. Depicting unusual rich blue hand-painted decoration on a soft white ground. This tall ceramic jar was originally used for pickling. The combination of an irregular surface with a subtle ridged pattern along the side gives this tall vessel an understated sculptural presence.

Presenting a wide opening to the rim - perfect for housing plants.

Can be used either inside or outside, but would recomend that this pot is protected from the frost during colder months.
