Description

This antique French leather double hat case which dates from the late 19th century is a large size, has a removable insert and can store 2 hats in the box and 1 opera hat in the lid.

This case is well made of quality leather and has nice detail such as a sturdy leather carrying handle, brass studwork, side straps, front strap and has a red lining. The brass lock plate is stamped with Brevete VP SGDG. There is no key for the lock.

A nice case with a beautiful rich patina for keeping hats safe but is also ideal for home decor, shop display or photography / film prop.

External Width: 37 cm (14 1/2"). External Depth: 33 cm (13"). External Height: 35 cm (13 3/4").

Weight: 1698 g.

Condition: Very good antique condition with age related wear. Scuffs, scrapes, cracks and all over wear leaving a nice aged patina. There is no key. Carry handle in sound condition and all straps in place. Inside has fading. Please see pictures.
