This George V mahogany 3 pedestal dining table was made in an independent cabinetmakers workshop circa 1920 using antique timber that was redundant. In this period there was a surplus of good timber around from antique tables that were no longer needed or out of fashion. This allowed the cabinetmaker to be able to choose fabulous timber to construct the tops. Hence as you will see the depth of colour and warmth of the surface.

It stands on the 3 pillar columns with the triple legged bases. Each with a turned central column and the elegant splay legs off that then ending with the cast brass claw toes and rolling castors under.

The design of this elegant dining table is a timeless classic, a design that has been popular since 1780. A table like this was in the grand houses of the Georgian period onwards, they are so easy to get more chairs around than the later styles. This one with the soft round ends.
