In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
an engraved armorial crest at the end. It is a good quality piece and weighs approximately 125g. It measures 12" (30cm) long and the bowl is 3 1/2" (9cm) wide.

It does not have any clear hallmarks but has been tested as silver. Either they have rubbed from the back of the end of the handle or they were sometimes stamped on the back of the narrowest part of the handle. There are some indistinguishable marks here and there looks like an old repair which may account for the loss of marks.

It is in good condition for its age and displays well. As I've mentioned it looks like there has been an old repair to the handle at the narrowest part (see photo). There are some faint surface scratches and a few light marks but no other damages and nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
