Description

Superb quality early 20th Century mahogany pedestal serpentine desk in the Chippendale style, the finely carved moulded edge top having a tobacco coloured leather writing surface decorated with blind tooling, the desk having an arrangement of nine graduated oak lined drawers with the original decorative brass swan neck handles, the top three drawers having carved drawer fronts and that same carving is on the sides and reverse of the desk, lovely carved floral decoration in between each drawer and running down each pedestal, all sides of the desk having wonderful figuration throughout, standing on highly decorative carved bracket feet. In excellent condition and having a lovely warm mahogany colour. Circa 1910.
