Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
It is of fantastic quality and has a lovely design.
The drawers are graduated in depth, all with locks & fine dovetails. The handles are beautifully turned, the pedestals sit on plinth bases and have porcelain casters underneath so this can be wheeled around. The top lifts off and this can come apart in three pieces for ease of transport.
This desk is finished & polished on the back, so can sit in the middle of a room if need be.
We have recently had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There is just some minor wear beneath the polish and this has a lovely overall patina.
