Fabulous Mid-victorian Silver Inkstand by Edward Ker Reid, London 1863

Description

This stunning Victorian silver inkstand was made by Edward Ker Reid and is dated London 1863. The lobed circular base finely engraved with Gothic style decorations. The centre fitted with a detachable and very decorative frosted glass silver lidded inkwell. The lid applied with a flower head and the neck with silver cut-out apron. Both hinged lid and receptacle fully hallmarked. The glass inkwell is by the same maker and date.

EKR for Edward Ker Reid.

London Assay mark.

Duty Mark.

Lion Passant.

Inkstand: Date letter "h" for 1863

Inkwell: Date letter "h" for 1863.

Dimensions:

Diameter: 15.5cm / 6.3 inches

Height: 9cm / 3.3 inches.

Condition:

Very good throughout.

Glass inkwell in very good condition.

Silver in very good condition.
