Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

The outside of the shank is inscribed by hand in a lovely sloping cursive: "Thomas Clarke born March 23 1799 died Feb 18 1881" - a very good age for a Victorian gentleman, when the average lifespan was around 45 for men.

Fully hallmarked for Birmingham nine-carat gold with the date letter W (1871) and makers mark FW.
The ring is in very good antique condition with normal surface wear and a little enamel loss.
Size: T (UK), approximately 9.5 (US). The face of the ring measures approx 1.1 x 1cm.

Weight: 1.9g.
